Got Resolutions? We Sure Do!

We asked our amazing Mark Fisher Fitness team if they have any resolutions for 2018. Their responses covered wide range of topics.

Here’s what their plans are for the new year:

Gainz and Brainz

Tim Landicho

My 2018 goals are to put on some mass and to prioritize recovery (meditation, adequate sleep, etc).

Craig Middleton

My New Year’s resolution is to work out at least three days a week for the whole year. AND to continue to meditate every single day!

Christian Sineath

My intention is to refrain from squashing my creative impulses before they are fully formed. In the fitness arena, I’m still working on strict 24 kg. presses on both my left and right side. SO CLOSE! I’d also love to learn how to do a handstand and have added yoga into my weekly fitness regimen.

Andrew Cole

My resolution this year is for my abs to be visible by the time May rolls around. My hubby and I have booked five weekends on Fire Island this summer, so I’ve got my work cut out for me! But the first step in achieving a goal is saying it out loud so others can hold you accountable. So that’s what I’m doing here :o)

Você fala português?

Brian Crowley

My New Year’s resolution is to become conversational in Brazilian Portuguese!

Accentuate the Positive

Chris Crowthers

I want to find something to celebrate every day. It doesn’t always have to be something big.

Feeding Frenzy

Mark Fisher

I’m going to spice up my home “menu” of meal choices. I’m in a bit of a rut with my dinner options, and I’m going to challenge myself to not be satisfied with things I can “tolerate.” Instead, I will take my own advice until I find more options I truly love!

Geoff Hemingway

I’m gonna resolve to eat greens every meal.

Daring Greatly

Katie Kaufman

Do more things that scare me!

Reilly Jennings

Try more things I feel underqualified for than things that feel like a perfect fit. Nobody got anywhere exciting by doing things they’ve already done.

Michael Littig

Ninjas, I have had an intense two years. A new chapter is starting and I am committed to seeking balance in the new year. I will do this by seeing my family on a more consistent basis and investing time in making a new home for myself in Jackson Heights!

Taking Care of Business

Carly Knight

For 2018, I resolve to get myself completely organized in my personal life starting with booking those doctors appointments, getting rid of all these old CDs, and updating all my dating profiles.

Laura Mårtensson

So my New Year’s resolution is all about finances. I am going to start tracking all of my spending and decide where I could be saving more money, also making sure my spending aligns with my values. Nikki Switzer and Jodi Carter compared it to fitness and it made so much sense. Tracking what’s going on and being mindful really make a difference. With their help and some great books I’ve read, I’m feeling on track to make this happen!

Love is All You Need

Michael Keeler

My New Year’s resolution is to slow down in 2018 – take time to enjoy every moment I get with people I love.

Rog Law

I want to put more creativity and love out into the world through my actions.

Brian Patrick Murphy

In 2018, I will be the strongest, most loving, supportive husband and new father that I possibly can. All goals, resolutions, and choices in ’18 will be made through that lens.

ALL the Goalz

Harold Gibbons

Let’s take a realistic approach to resolutions, shall we?

The romantic sentiment of New Year’s resolutions quickly wears off without a timeline, which is why we all have resolutions that recur year after year. Build more muscle, burn more fat, meet someone new, conquer old demons.

We all have our recurring resolutions, often with one thing in common: we haven’t set a timeline for our goals.

As we go into a new year with aspirations of creating improved versions of ourselves, I’m considering a few intentions for the year:

  • My fiancé Katie and I have had quite a busy year, and we’re planning to have at least one date night out and one meal we cook together each week of 2018.
  • I’m in the best physical shape I’ve ever been in, and I want to push myself even further by committing to at least three enduro races during the mountain biking season.
  • Geoff and I are very excited about the Motivation and Movement Lab that we’re hosting in February, and we’re planning another one to take place between September and the end of the year.
  • Having a daily practice has become more important to me as I get older, and for me that includes meditation, movement, and eating a salad. Every damn day.
  • These are my big rocks for the new year. Oh, and I’m getting married in October!
