Meet the Meat: Fresh Faces at MFF Hell’s Kitchen

Starting in January, we’re stoked to be hosting a series of Trainers-in-Residence throughout the year who will join the MFF Team for several months at a time.

The magical humans selected for this program are experienced fitness professionals and college students wet with anticipation to share their knowledge bombs with the Ninja Army and learn about MFF’s unique approach to fitness and community.

As we get the program up and running, the TIRs will be appearing on the class and semi-private training schedule at MFF HK. Get to know thess studly dudes and dudette below, and take some time to absorb their passion and insight in the coming months.

Tanner Baze

Hometown: Sherman, Texas

Spirit Animal: Grizzly bear, or my dog Bowser. If I can be fictional, a Hippogriff.

Fitness Credentials: NSCA – CPT, Precision Nutrition Level 1, Complete Human Performance Certified Trainer

Quick FitTip: Always be seeking out little wins.

Primary Clubhouse: MFF Hell’s Kitchen

Here’s a little more about Tanner: Tanner Baze is a Texan, aspiring wordsmith, and bibliophile. He’s also one of the world’s foremost experts on trashy rom-coms and holds the controversial belief that The Rolling Stones were immeasurably better than The Beatles.

DAVID ROMERO

Hometown: Weehawken, NJ

Spirit Animal: Wolf

Fitness Credentials: NSCA – CPT

Favorite Thing About MFF: Authenticity

Quick FitTip: Take what’s yours with fire and blood.

Primary Clubhouse: MFF Hell’s Kitchen

Here’s a little more about David: I like poetry. I also appreciate proper capitalization and punctuation during serious texting conversations. As a dog person, I understand and tolerate those that identify as cat people rather well and have gone 67 days without incident. I love lamp. Some people describe me as arrogant, but I think it’s just because they’re jealous. I’m very humble. In fact, I’m probably the most humble person you will ever meet. Ever. Calisthenics is my favorite form of training and I believe it is consistently underutilized in most fitness programs. People are amazing and can do extraordinary things once they hear the right song, or see the right show/movie, or talk to the right person. My only hope is to help as many people as I can to see how wonderful their lives can really be. Starting with fitness!!

Zoe Zisis

Hometown: Roseland, NJ

Spirit Animal: The Wolf

Fitness Credentials: Certified Functional Strength Coach (CFSC), FRCms

Favorite Thing About MFF: The ridiculous humans who create the love, the energy, and the magical transformative powers of the Clubhouse.

Quick FitTip: Find a buddy or clan to exercise with and whatever you choose to do, make sure it’s something that is fun for you!

Primary Clubhouse: MFF Hell’s Kitchen

Here’s a little more about Zoe: Hi, my name is Zoe and I am incredibly thrilled and honored to be hopping on board the Grand Unicorn Experiment here at MFF.

I’ve played ice hockey almost all my life, which is how I was first introduced to strength training and the magic that can happen when you join a team of badass people in a gym, or better yet a Clubhouse!

After living in Boston for a few years where I attended Northeastern University and did all things hockey, I migrated to NYC when I heard the Unicorns calling me from the distance. This spring, I’ll complete my bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Montclair State University.

I LOVE learning about mindset and psychology. My passion lies in helping people remove any obstacles that are holding them back from creating the life of their dreams.
